Fill The Skills Gap
The UK is experiencing a skills gap. The British economy is the second largest in Europe and the fourth biggest in the world, growing annually at an avergae rate of around 2-3% of GDP.
But this dynamic growth is creating an unprecedented number of employment opportunities for overseas workers, as these jobs cannot be filled by British residents alone.
For example, a recently published and important industry report states; ‘Employment in the domestic IT industry is forecast to grow at five to eight times the average UK employment growth over the next decade’.
This picture is repeated in other key sectors such as Market Research and Pharmaceuticals and well paid vacancies at all levels are available now.
This is a great opportunity if you would like to experience living and working in the UK.
SLS has a proven track record of succesfully placing overseas workers and to find out more contact us and/or visit our vacancy search.
Work Permits & Entry Clearance
Residents of the EEA (European Economic Area — essentially the EU) and Switzerland are free to enter and work in the UK without paperwork or permissions.
Residents of newer member states, specifcially Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic must register with the Home Office under the new ‘Worker Registration Scheme’ for 12 months when undertaking work in the UK.
If you currently live outside the EEA you may need to apply for entry clearance before you travel. The entry clearance process for the United Kingdom is run by UK Visas through the British diplomatic posts around the world.
